Photos by me, all other photos of me by Natalie Chyi
I went to Paris once in October and once in November this fall.
After having lived in Paris last summer, it should not have surprised me that I would love it just as much in the fall.
To top it off, we (an incredible crew including Zoe, Natalie, Nathan, Bryant, Beatrice, and myself) happened upon the most idyllic & sunniest fall weekend and stayed in an airy, bright space that really did the sunlight some justice. Only in these kind of situations can you be glad that the windows have no furnishings or curtains and that you're the willing victim of sunlight waking you up at seven AM.
I try to tell friends who've never been why I'm so enamored with the city. I muster up a pathetic attempt to describe Paris, because really, "it's hard to describe it, because just being there feels different. You'll know when you go." It's everything that feels different - from the architecture, to the air, to the trees. And that's before I even try to elaborate upon the art, the food (fig jam, chèvre…), and the parks.
I hope this series of photos kind of conveys that sense of just being there. I tend to forget to photograph when I'm enjoying myself too thoroughly, but I was able to snap a few of Zoe, our airy space, and some little explorations here and there.
